Leading up to the Conference, the world was reminded that human activities have already caused around 1.1˚C of warming to date, that impacts are already being felt in every region from more extreme heatwaves and wildfires to floods, and that the planet was still on course for a dangerous 2.7˚C of warming according to the United Nations Environment Programme. With such observations providing much impetus to accelerate climate action, the investment team of the Pictet-Clean Energy and Pictet-Global Environmental Opportunities (GEO) funds provide some thoughts surrounding the event.
